Today I began another Summer Learning Journey Challenge. For this challenge, we were required to create an animation of a tiger. The tiger could be depicted hunting, hiding, or walking. I chose to animate the tiger walking, as this option was the most manageable for me. I thoroughly enjoyed this task because it gave me the opportunity to create an animation of my favourite animal. Below is my completed tiger animation.
Summer Learning Journey – Project Tiger – Kick Start
Today, I completed another Summer Learning Journey challenge. For this challenge, we were required to create a Google Drawing that presented facts about tigers. I thoroughly enjoyed this task, as tigers are my favourite animals. I found the activity straightforward and appreciated the opportunity to expand my knowledge about tigers. I look forward to beginning the Step It Up Challenge. Below are the facts I have gathered about tigers.
Summer Learning Journey – Which one does not Belong – Kick Start/ Step It Up
Today, I began another Summer Learning Journey Challenge. For this challenge, we were asked to watch a video about different animals and decide which one did not belong. I really enjoyed this task because it allowed me to learn more about a variety of animals. I did not even know that an orchid mantis existed before completing this activity.
Below is my slideshow showing which animal does not belong. I also included the Step It Up Challenge, where we were asked to create our own “Which One Does Not Belong?” activity.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy celebrating Christmas. Try Figure out which one does not belong on my version yourself. Good luck.
Summer Learning Journey – Zentangle Art – Kick Start
Today, I began another Summer Learning Journey challenge. For this challenge, we were asked to draw a Zentangle, and we were able to choose from three different options. I decided to choose the Breach, as it reminded me of a shell blowing horn.
While drawing the Breach, I found the curves to be the most challenging part, as I struggled to make them curved enough. Despite this, I felt very proud of my work because the drawing turned out well and was better than many of my previous drawings.
Below is my drawing of the Breach. For anyone who would like to try this activity, I recommend choosing the Breach, as I found it to be the easiest option. However, if you enjoy a challenge, I suggest trying one of the other designs.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday, and may God bless you during Christmas.

Summer Learning Journey – Octopus Oddities – Step It Up Challenge
Today, I began another Summer Learning Journey challenge. For this challenge, we were assigned the task of creating a poster about an octopus. I chose to focus on the Giant Pacific Octopus because it is featured in many traditional Island stories. I enjoyed this challenge as it allowed me to learn new and interesting facts about this octopus. Below is my poster about the Giant Pacific Octopus. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and may God bless you during this special time of Christmas.
Summer Learning Journey – Octopus Oddities – Kick Start Challenge
Today, I began another Summer Learning Journey Challenge. In this challenge, we were given the option to either colour in a drawing online or create and colour our own artwork. I chose to draw and colour an octopus myself, as I prefer a more traditional, hands-on approach to completing tasks.
I would also like to share three interesting facts about octopuses. Firstly, octopuses are very fast and can reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour. Secondly, an octopus has nine brains, including one central brain that coordinates the others. Lastly, octopuses are able to regenerate lost arms, which is a remarkable ability.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and may God bless you during this special Christmas.

Summer Learning Journey – Wētā Punga – He tīmatanga – Kick Start
Today I started one of the Te Reo Māori Summer Learning Journey challenges. I found it quite challenging at first because it was written in Māori, but with the help of a family member, I was able to translate and understand it. I really enjoyed this challenge, especially because I got to draw my own wētā, which was my favourite part. I decided to write my sentences here so they would be easy for everyone to read. I hope you all have a lovely holiday, and may God bless you during this Christmas.
-
Waewae are the legs of the wētā. They help the wētā walk, climb, and hold onto surfaces.
-
Puhihi are the muscles inside the wētā’s body. These muscles help it move its legs and jump.
-
Whatu are the eyes of the wētā. They allow the wētā to see in the dark, especially at night.
-
Matihao are the claws on the wētā’s feet. They help the wētā grip tree bark and protect itself.
-
Taringa are the ears of the wētā. They help the wētā hear vibrations and sense danger.
-
Pū kākano is the abdomen of the wētā. This part holds important organs and helps with breathing and digestion.
-
Waewae taratara are the spiny back legs of the wētā. They are used for jumping and for defence against predators.

Summer Learning Journey – Legs Legs Legs – Step it up
Today I began another Summer Learning Journey challenge. For this task, we were asked to design an item that would help a dog named Toby move around more easily, such as a car. Toby was born without any front legs, which presents significant challenges for him. However, people have created special mobility cars that allow him to travel safely and independently. For my design, I chose to create a race car so Toby could be the fastest dog ever. Below is my hand-drawn design of Toby’s Hot Wheels–style car. Merry Christmas. (Apologies for the lack of colour; I did not have any available.)

Summer Learning Journey – Legs Legs Legs – Kick Start Challenge
Today, I began another Summer Learning Journey challenge. In this task, we were required to design a prosthetic leg for an elephant. I found this challenge particularly engaging because it encouraged independent thinking and creativity, rather than copying existing designs. I thoroughly enjoyed completing this task and hope you find my work interesting. Below is my prosthetic leg design.
Merry Christmas.
Summer learning Journey – Legs Tally – Step it up Challenge
Today, I kicked off another Step It Up challenge for Long Legs! The theme for this challenge is centipedes, and we were given a fun template filled with interesting questions to answer about them. Most of the questions were a breeze for me, and I even had the chance to share a few extra centipede facts with everyone. Below is my centipede-themed template.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
